The President's commission on the country's debt and deficit has released the answer to how to get the country's debt problem under control. Thank god, and just in the nick of time. I mean the country is headed off the proverbial economic cliff to a fall to the debt rocks below. Erkine Bowles and Alan Simpson, the co-chairs announced their rescue plan to a country who, has been waiting in terror about the possible repercussions if they failed. Okay they said to raise the retirement age, freeze the pay of federal employees, raise taxes and a few other things but basically it was to cut spending and increase revenue. Brilliant! Whew! Ok so I think these guys deserve a ticker tape parade, the congressional medal of honor, and yes, yes, the purple heart. Oh! I forgot free superbowl tickets. After all they'll want to know what the rest of us have been doing while they were working on this. We can catch them up at the game...right?
